Cate Haigh

Learning Support Assistant

About Me

My association with ASHS started in 2009 as a parent of a foundation student and was fortunate to become part of the ASHS staff in 2014. I have been supporting students with their education for the past 15 years, working with students from years 1 through to 13. I really enjoy supporting our students and helping them to achieve their goals while at school and beyond. In my spare time I can be found out in the paddock with my horses or on the side of a motorsport track. I also enjoy travelling around our beautiful country.

About Me

I am privileged to work with students, staff, and whānau at ASHS. My passion lies in establishing an inclusive and supportive environment where students can thrive academically, emotionally, and socially. It is a pleasure to be part of the educational journey that our young people take as they strive to achieve their goals and pursue their hopes and dreams for their future. On the weekends, I enjoy spending time with my family, walking my two dogs and relaxing.

About Me

My background is in nutrition, having worked in Dietetics and tertiary education before joining ASHS. I started giving professional support to the Wednesday Impact Projects, subsequently joining the learning support team. I find that the challenges and joys of working with our young adults are extremely rewarding. When not running, tramping or walking with my husband you’ll find me reading. I have two adult children.

Jane Marshall

SENCO / Learning Support

About Me

I support inclusive, achievement focussed learning and work with students, colleagues, whanau and external services to wrap around support for each individual student's definitions of success. I love working at ASHS as staff say “yes” to make education work for individual students. Outside of school I am busy with my own teenagers. I love the gym, running, yoga, podcasts, design, outdoors and pottery.

About Me

I have been at ASHS for coming up one year and I love it! Working with young people is my happy place, and I love supporting their different learning styles. Before this role I was in the health and fitness industry for over 25 years. I have 2 adult children and an 11-year-old, who have all taught me valuable skills. I am studying part time and I love reading and researching. My biggest hobby is music and I collect records (vinyl) in my spare time.
