Kia ora e te whānau,
PPTA Industrial Action Resumes
The National Executive of PPTA Te Wehengarua has directed that the rolling strikes will continue over the coming weeks.
This means that year levels will be rostered on the following days.
Note – if you are a student taking a class that is different to your year level you will need to work independently if that level/year is rostered home. You are encouraged to work in your normal classroom space.
Addressing concerns about disrupted learning
- Self-directed learning can continue online. Student can access their Google Classrooms at any time. Rolling strikes do not prevent students from completing classwork and assessments.
- As a senior school, we move to study leave early in Term Four, this also means we have flexible time in which students can continue to complete assessments if they need to do so to meet their personal academic targets.
- If you have any specific concerns don’t hesitate to get in touch with your young person’s Tutor to make a plan.
Like you, we too are very much looking forward to a settlement being reached and strike action ending – we look forward to all teachers getting the pay and terms and conditions they deserve!
