Pink Shirt Day & ConnectED

Kia ora whānau,

Just a quick heads up about two upcoming events. This Friday we have Pink Shirt Day and then we have the relaunch of ConnectED on the 3rd June. Please remind your young person to support Pink Shirt Day and we would love to see you all at ConnectED. Please feel free to pass on the info about ConnectED to anyone who might be interested.

Pink Shirt Day Friday 21st May

Pink Shirt Day, run by the Mental Health Foundation, is this Friday 21 May! This is about coming together to put an end to bullying, and work towards creating a culture in which everyone — irrespective of age, gender identity, or cultural background — feels safe and valued. At ASHS, we will be wearing pink to show our support and will run events promoting this culture at lunchtime on Friday. We want to celebrate diversity and promote kindness, and we hope that you join us by also wearing pink! Kōrero Mai, Kōrero Atu, Mauri Tū, Mauri Ora (speak up, stand together, stop bullying!).

ConnectED @ ASHS

Building Connections Now = Supporting the Future

ConnectED is an initiative that seeks to build relationships between students and local businesses, to provide memorable and mutually beneficial opportunities for both parties.

We’d like to invite you to our first ASHS ConnectED event for 2021. The goal of this event is to continue the dialogue around the value of connecting young people with industry experts and exploring future career paths. We will acknowledge and celebrate those who are already part of the Initiative and welcome all new interested parties.

When: 6.30 – 8.00 pm | Thursday 3rd June 2021

Where: BCLLC (next to the cafe) at Albany Senior High School

We will also be holding a World Cafe – exciting way to explore ConnectED and discuss our future partnership prospects.

There will be an opportunity to network with and talk to other individuals and representatives about what is currently happening and the future of ConnectED might look like for both students and external businesses. We will be providing nibbles and coffee for refreshments!
