Kia ora e te whānau,
PPTA Industrial Action Suspended
The Post Primary Teachers’ Association (PPTA) has advised that industrial action is suspended. “The purpose of the suspension of strike action is to allow the Ministry of Education to work with urgency to explore options for revised offers” [PPTA].
This means that the following cohorts are NOT rostered home and are expected at school:
Year 11 Thursday 25 May
Year 13 Tuesday 30 May
Unless we receive further communication from the PPTA, strike action will continue on Wednesday 31 May, so Year 12 may still be rostered home on Thursday 1 June. We will let you know if this changes.
Vaccination Pop-Up Reminder
As a follow-up to the recent Measles case at ASHS the Auckland Regional Outreach is running a pop-up Vaccination Clinic in the ASHS bus bay on Wednesday 24 May from 9.45 – 1.45 am. Students, whānau and the wider community are welcome to attend. Just drive on through. No appointment is needed. Students wanting to be vaccinated will be able to access the pop-up clinic at morning tea or lunch. Please encourage your young person to attend if you know they need an MMR vaccination.
The Auckland Regional Outreach team works with the health districts, ARPHS and community providers across Auckland to undertake vaccination and testing. Over the past 2 years, we have worked with schools, residential facilities, healthcare providers, community groups and whānau to facilitate all manner of immunisation and testing. Our team works with our partners to ensure that the way in which we deliver the service meets the needs of the individuals and groups.
Additional information is attached below.
Note this is not being organised by the school, it is being organised and facilitated by the Auckland Regional Outreach and Te Whatu Ora | Health New Zealand.
