Kia ora e te whānau,
An important message from the Principal
At Albany Senior High School we recognise the best teaching and learning happens face to face and whilst we acknowledge that for a small number of students it has been helpful to learn from home, we are now at a point where we believe it is best for all of our learners to be in school with us.
Now that we have moved to Orange we are expecting all students to be in school full time. Therefore, the only reasons students should be home or engaging in learning online is because of one or more of the following:
- They are unwell (i.e. have COVID like symptoms)
- Are COVID positive
- Are a household contact
- Are dual enrolled with Northern Health School
- Are on a plan established with our Learning Support team.
Any other students will be marked absent and coded accordingly.
Continuing to wear face masks at Orange level
As you know, we remain at Orange level on the Covid-19 protection framework.
At this level, face masks are strongly encouraged in schools. Individual schools are able to require face masks to be worn where they determine this is necessary. As a school we would like to very much encourage all students to continue to wear mask while indoors. We appreciate your support with this. Face masks will continue to be available from reception, free of charge, for those that need them.
A+ Information Evening is coming!
