Kia ora e te whānau,
We are very much looking forward to seeing everyone all masked up and ready to learn on Monday!
I do hope everyone managed to have a well-earned break. It was a tough Term One, but once again we adapted and evolved to meet the needs of our young people as best we could. We will continue to focus on hybrid learning and remind our students, family and whānau that all learning is available via Google Classroom for those at home isolating or unwell. It is important that we continue to err on the side of caution and that our young people stay home if ever unwell and that they follow the isolation rules in full.
Please note – I have added important dates at the bottom of this newsletter so that you know about any days where the school has a planned closure. This term there are three days in the calendar – Queen’s Birthday, Matariki and a NCEA Accord Day next week.
Continuing to wear face masks at Orange level
As you know, we remain at Orange level on the Covid-19 protection framework.
At this level, face masks are encouraged to worn outdoors and in strongly encouraged in schools. Individual schools are able to require face masks to be worn where they determine this is necessary. As a school we would like to very much encourage all students to continue to wear mask while indoors. We appreciate your support with this. Face masks will continue to be available from reception, free of charge, for those that need them.
A+ Information Evening is coming!
We will be holding our annual A+ Information Evening on Wednesday 4th May. Join us in the Theatre at 6pm.
This is an evening for any current (or future) ASHS family and whānau who would like to learn more about how we do things here. There will be a brief presentation in the theatre followed by a rotation of more detailed sessions about Tutorial, Impact Projects, Specialist Subjects and NCEA. All welcome!! We would love to see you there.
