Well it looks inevitable that we will be in lockdown for a little while longer. To this end, it is important that we now turn our focus to establishing routines and expectations for learning from home. At ASHS we have designed an approach that ensures we provide a high quality learning experience and robust assessment opportunities whilst also maintaining a focus on wellbeing and connection. Please support your young person to follow the guidelines linked above (and below). I have also highlighted our weekly timetable structure and student expectations below for easy reference.
The Ministry of Education has signalled that if the lockdown is prolonged that NCEA will be adapted as per last year. I will keep you posted as soon as we hear anything definite. In the meantime it is important that our learners continue to complete their NCEA assessments as best they can.
Thanks again to our students and whanau for continuing to work with us. We have had fantastic rates of engagement in these past few days and we look forward to having this continue. I recognise that life in lockdown can be a challenging juggling act, and I encourage any of our young people to reach out should they need further support.
And remember…
Be kind.
Stay safe.
Stay home.
Wear a mask if going out!
We got this team!!
