ASHS Update – Sunday 2nd May 2021
Welcome to Term Two!
Kia ora whānau,
Welcome back to Term Two! We hope everyone had a safe and restful break and we look forward to seeing everyone back out school tomorrow. I get the sense that Term Two and Term Three are going to fly by and encourage our young people and whanau to put theor health and wellbeing first over the Winter months. Whilst life at Level One can feel normal, it is important that we all continue to ensure we keep on washing those hands and that students do stay home if unwell.
There are a few days that the school will be closed for business in term two, starting with a nation-wide NCEA Teacher Only Day on the Thursday in Week Two. Please see the important dates down below.
Notify ASHS about an Absence
If your young person is unable to attend school for a period of less than 3 days, please phone the school on (09) 451 9065 as soon as possible. You can even phone out of office hours as the school has an answerphone that is cleared daily. If you leave a message please clearly say your son or daughter’s name and the reason for the absence as the school is required to use the correct Ministry of Education code.

Alternatively – you may wish to report an absence for your young person through the Kamar mobile application. Download the KAMAR App on your iOS device from the iTunes store or on your Android device from the Google Play store. iOS: Apps Store Android: Google Play Store

If your young person has an unexplained absence in the first lesson of the day you will receive a notification through the Kamar app, a text message or an email about this. Please reply with the reason so that we can update our records.

LUMINO DENTIST ON SITE

ASHS BUS UPDATES
017 Bus Route
Just a quick reminder before term starts up. The 017 bus service is not a transfer bus between Albany Junior and Senior schools. Any students transferring will not be permitted to catch the 017 buses. If students need to transfer between schools, they will need to catch the 060 or 061 service which are the transfer buses.

ASHS to Warkworth Private Shuttle Afternoon Service (via The Concierge Passenger Service)
After a successful trial for the Albany Senior to Warkworth Shuttle Afternoon Service this term, we are continuing for Term 2. If demand is high, we will also look into starting a morning run. For more information, please contact Cyrena Brunton via email at cyrena@brunton.co.nz
