ASHS Term Four, Week Two Update
Kia ora whanau,
Welcome to Week Two! With next weekend being Labour Day we are fast running out of class time as there is only two weeks and one day of timetabled classes left! Therefore, we really really do encourage our learners to be in school all week this week so they get those internal assessment done and dusted. Even if they don’t have exams, our learners should be in school taking full advantage of flexible time and support! Our teachers are here and waiting to help!
Prelim Exams Week continues – These continue until Wednesday. Our normal class timetable will resume on Thursday.
Students have been told the following:
- You MUST attend all external standard prelim exams you are signed up for.
- You MUST attend all internal standard workshops.
- You SHOULD make the most of the time to come into school and complete and unfinished internal standards.
- You CAN study from home (during the prelim week only) if that suits you better – but only when you don’t have exams or workshops or basically anything you could be doing in school to meet your academic goals for 2020.
The rest of the term – Timetabled classes will continue to run for all learners through to the end of Week Four – with much of Week Five also being farewells and prizegiving.
Students will be signed out for study leave in Week Five only if they are on track for meeting their academic goals! If they still need to gain more internal credits to meet their agreed goals they will be expected to continue to come to school until Monday of Week Eight. Their Tutors will help them plan their time (and priorities) as needed.
If you have any questions about your young person’s progress and when they are likely to be signed out, please contact their Tutor teacher.
