ASHS Update – Reports and Learning Dialogues
Kia ora whanau,
We are now only three weeks away for the school holidays. Please support your young person to be at school each and every day of the school week! There are only seven weeks before we turn our focus to prizegivings and then exams. Whilst the school will remain open to support learners (as needed) until the end of Term Four, timetabled classes are ending in just a matter of weeks. Now is the time for our students to dig deep and do their very best. Soon you will be receiving a Progress Report for your young person and we want to encourage you all to book in for a Learning Dialogue so we can work together to support our young people to meet personal and academic goals for the school year.
Parent Portal Update
We have updated our internal systems over the weekend.
Please use the link from the public website – Parent links section. https://ashs.school.nz/#ashsconnect
If you had a bookmark/favourite to the portal please delete or update it as the URL has changed.
This is an essential system for parents/caregivers to be able to access as it provides information around attendance, achievement, and reports.
Changes to Reporting 2020
At Albany Senior High School we have a number of ways that we report to students and parents about the student’s progress and achievement so as to support our principles: we nurture, we inspire, we empower, so as to achieve highly and be good citizens.
As part of our ongoing commitment to open communication and sharing with whanau the progress of their young person in developing dispositions that support success we are introducing a new report that will provide a snapshot of both NCEA data and learning dispositions across all three areas of the ASHS curriculum.
These reports will be made available at the end of Week 8 to support the conversations between the learner, whanau, and teachers at the Learning dialogues in Week 9-10.
Learning Dialogues happening in Week Nine and Ten
Dates and times:
Thursday 17th September 3.30pm – 7.30pm
Tuesday 22nd September 1.00pm – 4.20pm (Students will leave school at lunchtime)
You can decide to do the meetings face to face by coming to school or by an online meeting. If you want to meet online, please email the tutor teacher and they will send a google meet link.
