I hope you and your bubbles are doing well, and I wish you all the best for the week ahead!

Remember to support your young people to get online for all of the scheduled Google Meetings and check-ins. We will be keeping a record of their engagement to ensure they stay connected, so please support them to get to all of their scheduled meet-ups.

If you haven’t already, please make sure you read the plan for learning from home which is attached to this message below!

Note re NCEA – Please remind your young person to focus on whatever they can do from home. Their teachers may offer an extra “at home” standard so make sure they are checking in to all of their classes this week. If they are worried about their practical subjects and standards, remember we can be flexible on a Thursday/Friday to ensure they get the time they need to catch up once we are back in school. Note that our teachers are also going to be gathering evidence for “derived grades” if needed, this means it is paramount that all classwork is completed as any classwork may count as evidence for an Achievement Standard! 

Midterm break – This Friday! – I realize this is not the midterm break we were planning for but we figured that when and if we are back in school our learners and teachers will want all the contact time they can get!  This means our teachers will be offline on Friday and I encourage our learners to also put their wellbeing first that day and take a few days to disengage from school as much as possible! That said, if they would prefer to keep going with their schoolwork, they are more than welcome to do so – whatever supports their wellbeing best!
