All summer sports have now finished for the year (excluding cricket which will continue in Term 4). ASHS had a great season with all who participated having fun and giving their sport their best effort. There were some impressive wins. Everyone involved is now looking forward to summer sports in 2010.

2010

The 4 sports outlined below require teams for 2010 to be registered before school starts next year. Please pick up a letter from reception or print off and return the attached slip to Hayley by Friday 23rd October.

Touch

Touch is played on a Tuesday afternoon with all schools playing at a central location. The season is  approximately 6 weeks long and begins in week 3 of term 1. Practices will most likely be during a lunch time. Fees per player are $10 and include entry fees and umpire costs. All students must wear the ASHS touch uniform. The touch singlet will be bonded to all players and must be returned at the completion of the season. The bond will be $35 and will be refunded once the singlet is returned. All players must buy the school sport shorts which cost $40. Therefore the combined cost for touch per student is $85.

Water Polo

Water polo is played on a Friday or Sunday afternoon/evening. Most games are played at the Millennium Institute of Sport and Health or Epsom Girls' Grammar. The water polo season begins in week 2 of term 1 and continues into week 4 of term 2. Practices will be one night after school. This year they were on a Monday at Glenfield Leisure Centre. An estimated cost for water polo fees in 2010 is $240 and includes competition entry fees , pool entry fees, pool training fees, payment for the coach and ASHS water polo togs. The water polo fees will be finalised early in 2010.

Cricket

Cricket is played on a Thursday after school. The season begins in week 2 and continues for the remainder of term 1. It then resumes in term 4 to complete the season. Practice is likely to be after school. This year it was held on a Monday and Thursday. Fees per player are $70 and cover entry fee and coaching fees. All students must wear the ASHS cricket uniform. The cricket t-shirt cost $40. Therefore the combined cost for cricket per player is $110.

Volleyball

Volleyball is played on Thursday after school. The season begins in week 2 and runs for approximately 5 weeks. Practices are most likely to be during a lunch time. Fees per player are $15 and this includes the competition entry fees. All students must wear the ASHS volleyball uniform. The volleyball singlet will be bonded to all players and must be returned at the completion of the season. The bond will be $35 and will be refunded once the singlet is returned. All players must buy the school sports shorts which cost $40. Therefore the combined cost for volleyball per student is $90.
