MAPs

No one slips through the cracks

MAP – My Academic Plan

Every student has a plan which is negotiated with the tutor teacher. The plan sets out the expectations for the student for the year. There are 3 types of MAPs

  1. MAP - these are for students who quite clearly will gain the required number of credits – the negotiation here is on merit and excellence endorsement.

  2. ASMAP – these are for students who can gain the required number of credits but who will need extra assistance to do so.

  3. MYMAP – these are for students who will not gain the required credits in the particular year but will negotiate with their tutor and family a broader plan which will empower them to gain Level 1 or Level 2 by the end of the following year.

These MAPs require ongoing vigilance from the tutors. With 15 – 16 students in each tutorial group and with 100 minutes twice a week there is opportunity for individual negotiating, planning and monitoring. There should be no surprises at the end of the year for anyone. That is the aim. Of course the main aim is that every student finds the success that they should.
